Multi-Purpose
Thunderbolt Stadium Synthetic Turf Installation
Littlestown, Pennsylvania
About the Project
Littlestown Area School District completed a synthetic turf installation at Thunderbolt Stadium, home venue for the Littlestown Thunderbolts. The project gave Littlestown High School an athletic surface built to support football, soccer, physical education, and community use throughout the year.
The Challenge
Littlestown Area School District needed a surface that could stand up to daily athletic and community use without the maintenance demands of natural grass. Thunderbolt Stadium serves multiple athletic programs, so consistent footing and dependable scheduling mattered as much as day one appearance, giving athletes the confidence to compete without hesitation. Weather delays, field wear, and upkeep had limited how reliably the stadium could be used.
The Solution
Sprinturf supplied an UltraBlade DFE system built on Dual Fiber Elite technology, pairing a fibrillated slit-film fiber with a resilient C8 monofilament fiber for a stable, unwavering feel underfoot and a clean, consistent field appearance. The system was manufactured in-house in the USA at Sprinturf’s ISO 9001-certified facility, and is backed by an 8-year third-party insured warranty covering materials and workmanship.
The Result
Backed by an UltraBlade DFE platform with more than 3,500 installations and zero fiber failures, Thunderbolt Stadium gives the Littlestown Thunderbolts a place where grit finds its purpose, season after season. The stadium now supports the full range of programs it was built for, from competition to daily practice and community events.
