The LEAP Grant program provides matching funds to help communities create safe, innovative, and inclusive spaces for athletics and play.

LEAP Grant Timeline

Projects must incorporate synthetic turf, and preference will be given to replacement projects.

Projects that prioritize sustainable practices and innovative designs are given preference.

Play spaces and athletic fields must be accessible to all community members.

Who is eligible?

Schools, local governments, and community organizations.

What is the project criteria?

Projects must meet the following criteria:

Replacement Projects: Preference will be given to projects that include replacing an existing artificial turf field.
Serve schools, municipalities, or organizations working to enhance community play areas.
Incorporate synthetic turf as the primary surfacing material.
Include safety features like underlayment systems for shock absorption.
Commit to ongoing maintenance to ensure the play area’s long-term usability.
Show evidence of community involvement and financial matching.
