About the Project
Chase Fieldhouse completed an outdoor turf field expansion at its Wilmington, Delaware sports complex, adding two synthetic turf fields to increase athletic programming capacity. Operated by BPG|Sports and home to the Delaware Blue Coats, the Philadelphia 76ers’ NBA G League affiliate, Chase Fieldhouse serves as a regional hub for youth leagues, tournaments, professional athletics, and multi-sport programming. The new fields were designed to support soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, football, and baseball.
The Challenge
Chase Fieldhouse needed to expand outdoor field capacity while maintaining the performance standards expected of a high-traffic regional sports destination. With the facility serving youth athletes, club programs, tournaments, camps, and professional sports partners, the project required a turf system capable of supporting frequent use across multiple sports, giving those programs the confidence to schedule back-to-back events without compromising field quality. The project also needed to be completed within a tight construction window, with work completed in under five weeks and the first event held on the new fields shortly after.
The Solution
Sprinturf supplied an UltraBlade DFE Single Needle system engineered for secure footing and a polished, game-day-ready surface, giving every sport played on it a stable, unwavering feel underfoot. The system was installed with rubber and sand infill and manufactured in-house in the USA at Sprinturf’s ISO 9001-certified facility, backed by an 8-year third-party insured warranty covering materials and workmanship.
The Result
With four turf fields across the campus, Chase Fieldhouse can now support more practices, games, camps, tournaments, and evening events across a broader range of sports. The new surface delivers durable, low-maintenance performance for athletes of all ages, and continues to propel the Wilmington community forward as one of the region’s premier multi-sport destinations.
