About the Project
St. Croix Central School District invested in a major athletic facility upgrade at St. Croix Central High School to modernize its outdoor sports infrastructure and create a durable, high-performance venue for student-athletes and the surrounding community.
The project included the installation of a new Sprinturf synthetic turf system designed to support football and soccer programming while improving field consistency, drainage, and year-round usability. The redevelopment was completed in partnership with Bolton & Menk, Inc. and construction firm Market & Johnson as part of the district’s continued commitment to enhancing athletic opportunities and campus facilities.
The Challenge
The district sought to replace its aging natural grass field with a modern athletic surface capable of withstanding intensive seasonal use while reducing maintenance demands and weather-related scheduling interruptions.
School leaders also needed a solution that would maximize long-term durability and playability for multiple sports programs while fitting within a compressed summer construction schedule ahead of the upcoming school year.
The Solution
Sprinturf supplied its DFE Extreme synthetic turf system engineered to provide durability, resilience, and consistent athletic performance for high school football and soccer programs.

The Result
The completed athletic field provides St. Croix Central High School with a modern, resilient sports surface capable of supporting heavy athletic use while improving field availability throughout Wisconsin’s changing weather conditions.
The Sprinturf DFE Extreme system delivers enhanced drainage, reduced maintenance requirements, and consistent performance characteristics for football and soccer athletes alike. The upgraded facility also expands scheduling flexibility for practices, games, camps, and community events while helping the district protect its long-term athletic facility investment.
Completed during the summer of 2023, the project positioned St. Croix Central High School with a reliable, high-performance athletic surface ready for immediate fall competition.
