WAYNE, PA – December 7, 2007 – Stanley H. Greene, president and CEO of Sprinturf, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Synthetic Turf Council (STC) during the organization’s recent Annual Membership Meeting in Orlando, Florida. Founded in 2003, STC serves as an objective resource assisting buyers and end users with the selection, use and maintenance of synthetic turf systems in sports field, golf and landscape applications throughout North America and abroad. Mr. Greene’s election to the Board recognizes Sprinturf’s leadership position within the industry overall.
“This appointment is about moving the synthetic turf industry forward and we as a company are thrilled to be a part of it,” said Mr. Greene. “The industry is expanding at an extraordinary rate and by our growth and increased research and development, we are bullish about the future. We look forward to participating actively with the Synthetic Turf Council to lead the industry forward.”
Mr. Greene’s election to the Board echoes Sprinturf’s recent growth, new leadership appointments and organizational improvements. The company has streamlined efficiency processes in order to increase product research and development resources and drive sales opportunities. Committed to its industry-leading position, Sprinturf has dramatically enhanced customer relations, executive management and leadership and field installation processes.
“The Board sets the strategic direction of the organization,” notes Rick Doyle, President of the Synthetic Turf Council. “Considering the dramatic changes that our industry is currently experiencing, Mr. Greene will play a critical role in guiding the growth and influence of the Council.”
Demand for synthetic turf fields has escalated over the past few years, with over 800 multi-use synthetic turf sports fields being installed annually in North America in schools, colleges, parks and professional sports stadiums. As the need for durable playing fields continues to escalate, especially those that don’t require high water usage during times of drought, synthetic turf has become an increasingly popular solution to enhance athletic performance, deal with the issue of limited space in older cities and suburbs, and allow for multiple sports teams to practice and play on a grass-like surface.
Sprinturf recently secured a strong, long-term strategic partnership with the National Football Foundation (NFF). As an official NFF corporate partner and exclusive turf provider, the company sponsored the NFF Chapter Awards Luncheon on December 4 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. Mr. Greene delivered the official welcome and presented the Chapter Leader Awards. Sprinturf was also recognized at the 2007 NFF Annual Awards Dinner, an event that attracted a sellout 1,500-plus crowd of football’s most influential supporters.
