SOUTH BEND, Ind. - January 31, 2008 - The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Football Hall of Fame have developed a long-term partnership with Sprinturf (www.sprinturf.com), a leading U.S. provider of synthetic turf systems. Recently, Sprinturf gave the Hall of Fame's Stadium Theater a bit of a face-lift by installing synthetic turf in the viewing area to make the overall look of the field more realistic. The Stadium Theater features a 26-by-15 foot main screen allowing you to view the Hall's "Game Day" presentation, along with sporting events, movies, presentations, gaming tournaments, and much more.
Sprinturf is the official and exclusive synthetic turf provider for the NFF's and the NFF's College Football Hall of Fame. In addition to the theater area, Sprinturf's synthetic surface covers the 45-yard field known as the Gridiron Plaza at the entrance to the Hall, making it a centerpiece of the community. The plaza serves as a recreational area for Hall of Fame visitors, Downtown South Bend patrons and local residents as well as charity events, alumni receptions and tailgate parties for visiting fans. The Gridiron Plaza will be the location for the 2008 Enshrinement Festival's annual Youth Football Clinic and the Enshrinee Flag Football game will be played on the Sprinturf field on July 19. The field was first introduced at the 2006 Enshrinement Festival that provided fond memories for both fans and Hall of Fame greats.
This relationship also positions Sprinturf as the exclusive provider of synthetic playing surfaces for the NFF as well as an official corporate partner of the organization and the presenting sponsor of the NFF Chapter Awards Luncheon. Sprinturf will also serve as the presenting sponsor of the NFF Chapter Network newsletter. Additionally, the company participates in a unique chapter relationship to support the needs of the 120 NFF chapters for scholarships and programs such as coaching clinics, leadership conferences and free physicals for high school students.

Greene delivered the official welcome and presented the Chapter Leader Awards. The annual luncheon highlighted the vital contributions of 120 NFF Chapters and their 12,000 members in strengthening the game of amateur football from border-to-border and coast-to-coast. Five chapter leaders received awards for their selfless contributions to the game. Additionally, five national High School Scholar-Athletes, selected from an elite pool of the 3,000 scholar-athletes already acknowledged by the Chapters as the best from their local communities, were recognized as the best of the best in the country.
"Sprinturf is committed to creating safe, high-performance playing surfaces for athletes across the country - that kind of dedication can only help us achieve our mission and that's to develop leadership, sportsmanship and competition throughout amateur football," said NFF President and CEO Steven J. Hatchell.
As an official NFF corporate partner, Sprinturf was recognized at the 2007 NFF Annual Awards Dinner, an event that sold out to a 1,500-plus crowd of football's most enthusiastic and influential supporters who embody the spirit of the game. The evening was highlighted by the induction of 14 of college football's greatest legends in to the College Football Hall of Fame including Penn State Head Coach Joe Paterno and former Boston College quarterback Doug Flutie. Additionally, several awards were bestowed that evening, including the Gold Medal, the Distinguished American Award and 15 National Scholar-Athlete Awards, totaling more than $300,000.
