Veteran Soccer Executive Named Director of Soccer Development for Sprinturf

Former vice president of United Soccer Leagues brings industry experience and insider knowledge to the rapidly expanding synthetic turf company

WAYNE, PA - June 20, 2007 - Sprinturf, the leading U.S. based provider of artificial and synthetic playing surfaces, today announced that Jim Kilmeade has been appointed Director of Soccer Development for North America. In his new role, Kilmeade will manage Sprinturf’s rapidly expanding soccer relationships and partnerships with organizations like United Soccer Leagues (USL) and the Youth Soccer Club Network.

Sprinturf is the official synthetic turf of USL, the largest organization of elite-level soccer leagues in North America. The USL has over 100 unique owners who operate clubs in its four senior leagues: USL First Division (USL-1), USL Second Division (USL-2), Premier Development League (PDL), and W-League. Additionally, over 700 elite youth teams compete in its national youth leagues, the Super Y-League (boys and girls ages 13-17) and Super-20 League, across 10 geographic divisions of the U.S. and Canada.

“We are thrilled to have Jim take on this expanded role and help us grow our North American soccer operations,” said Stanley H. Greene, president and CEO of Sprinturf. “Sprinturf is committed to providing safe, high performance synthetic fields to the sport of soccer, and we look forward to continuing to build momentum in the sport.”

“I have spent the bulk of my career promoting and supporting the sport of soccer, and was struck by Sprinturf’s commitment to the sport and their superior technology and services,” said Jim Kilmeade, director of Soccer Operations. “Sprinturf has repeatedly demonstrated its dedication to the betterment of the sport and I look forward to contributing to their efforts moving forward.”

Prior to joining Sprinturf, Kilmeade was the vice president of marketing and communications for the United Soccer Leagues. He also served as general manager of the Long Island Rough Riders, a USL club team, and head of Umbro North America.

“Jim’s background and experience are tremendous assets to both Sprinturf and USL,” said Tim Holt, Executive Vice President and CEO of USL. “The addition of Jim further demonstrates Sprinturf’s serious commitment to soccer in the US and Canada.”

Kilmeade is the most recent addition to Sprinturf’s rapidly expanding team. In May, the company announced a private equity buy out and brought on a new executive team including seasoned executive Stanley H. Greene as president and CEO, along with an all-star Board of Directors including legendary investor Warren V. “Pete” Musser, Super Bowl winning Coach Dick Vermeil and former head of U.S. Naval Academy Tom Lynch.
